“Leave No Trace” is the sacred mantra of Burning Man. But when the dust settled this year, the truth was written in garbage, and Fernley, Nevada paid the price.
The hypocrisy is staggering. The same Burners who flood social media with smug lectures about “radical responsibility” rolled into Fernley and treated it like a dumping ground. Locals never asked for this and were left to clean up the wreckage.

Thank you for sharing this documentary. The BLM is corrupt, the Washoe County law enforcement are corrupt!! Shame on them your job is to protect the land and protect the people and because you want money instead!! Sickening, this documentary doesn’t even cover the drug overdoses, the deaths, the sexual assaults. All because people are greedy and would rather lie, and keep their money than protect people and the land. 🤬

Great documentary. Thank You for doing this and for the previous clean up documentaries. This is a bad event that needed to stay where it began. I know “Burners” that believe there is nothing left behind. I hope they see this documentary. There is a lot of money in a lot of high places and it is very evident that money speaks louder than anything else.
I have just watched your documentary with absolute shock and hope these greedy-money makers get their Karma soon. The Playa and the people that live around it, who aren’t corrupted by money and indulgence, have had enough. It’s time to leave it be after the awful damage that has been scarred in to the motherland. Shame on you Burning Man and the BLM. It’s time you left NO trace by never returning.
I’m ready for this event to be permanently OVER. The Black Rock Desert is 1000% more valuable than anything Burning Man can serve up. Burning Man is willfully ignorant of the destruction they’re causing, completely illiterate of conversation science and their impact on this environment. They will always manipulate the narrative to their advantage and stay willfully ignorant. And now an UNSOLVED homicide in 2025. I say follow the money and SHUT THEM DOWN.

This was a great documentary to watch, hats off to EWU! This event should never have been allowed to exist if the damage to the ecosystem is as great as reported. Its horrible seeing the scars in the landscape, i can imagine how beautiful a place the playa once was.
The part with the chemical analysis stating it could be considered and industrial site is insane..
Thank you for making this documentary. This behavior from not only law enforcement and BLM rangers but burning man as well, paints quite the picture. I would like to say I am surprised but I too was harassed by brc rangers out on the playa during the 2021 renegade burn. Not going into particulars here but I found it strange that at and outside of a “non-event” that burning man representatives felt the need to flex as they did. The BmORG has gotten too used to the money they make as well as the BLM and everyone else who is making money to let this die easy, although it needs to and has for sometime now! This experiment has expired and become too costly to the land, environment, and the people who live there. And I’m not talking about the burners who bought up Gerlach either! It’s sad and disgusting. And really it seems that the principals they hold so high are nothing but bullshit to the BmORG.

Tel them to take their festival back to San francisco , have it at giants stadium or Golden gate park and leave the desert alone .
I hope you guys are going to do this again this year because they need to be held accountable they’re making tens of millions of dollars in profit I mean you do the math $500 minimum times 80,000 attendees. They should be able to pay a crew to have this cleaned up in a few weeks they should be able to pay a crew to have this cleaned up in a few weeks like 2 weeks not over a month and still run behind. And we all need to contact the BLM like I did and we need to tell them that they need to do a proper inspection with proper people who know what they’re doing and take soil samples and look for metal that they missed when they did their cleanup and they need to properly document just how bad it is after their cleanup.
The 2025 documentary when there was like a motorhome and stuff I just saw it it’s ridiculous . I don’t even go to Burning Man anymore because of how bad it’s got and even the original creator of burning man came out denouncing it saying no one should go anymore because it’s not what he created it’s not the same and I have to agree….
Burning Man is just for the rich to show off how much money they have to spend on fancy things to show off for a couple days and everyone just leaves trash everywhere like they don’t care believe no Trace doesn’t exist anymore no one seems to do that I mean I stopped going several years ago because of how bad it’s got up there
